Great Wrap

Since the invention of plastic in 1907, humans have made about 8.3 billion tons of it. 6.3 billion tons of that became plastic waste, used once and then thrown away. Roughly 9% of plastic is recycled. The rest, some 5.733 billion tons, has ended up in our oceans, rivers, forests or if we are lucky, landfill.

Great Wrap launched in early 2020 with the world's first certified compostable and biodegradable pallet wrap. We expanded into cling wrap more recently and have already diverted 20,000kg of plastic out of landfill (July 2020). 

We are Julia and Jordy Kay. Julia is a graduate of architecture and Jordy is a winemaker. We developed our plant based resin mix for Great Wrap over 18 months with the help from professors, industry experts, manufactures and suppliers. We worked very hard to create this and look forward to building a positive work environment and creating manufacturing jobs in Australia as we continue to grow.
