We ALL know how good turmeric is for us í ití´s basically the poster child for the íÍfood as medicineíñ movement! But isní´t it always the way that the things we know are good for us sometimes seem challenging to adapt to? I mean, turmeric in a curry, yes fine, butí? a latte?? The thing is í this combination has been drunk for hundreds of years on the continent as an antidote to inflammation and digestive issues. Weí´ve taken that ancient wisdom of the Ayurvedic Medicine & poured all our love and effort into making our blend not only authentic but utterly delicious too! Weí´ve combined organic spices í cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg and ginger, along with a generous hit of Madagascan vanilla to provide depth of flavour, digestive benefits & nourishing sweetness. We finish it with black pepper to aid the absorption of the active anti-inflammatory ingredients of the turmeric. When adding to your preferred milk/mylk, we suggest íÍbullet proofingíñ í that is adding a spot of good fat (cream or coconut oil) to further enhance the benefits & absorption.
Health Benefits
The active ingredient in turmeric í curcumin íí_ has a strong anti-inflammatory capacity, and its ability to improve the antioxidant capacity of the body means it can block free radicals and simultaneously boost the bodyí´s natural defence systems. Curcumin boosts levels of the brain hormone BDNF, which increases the growth of new neurons and fights various degenerative processes in your brain. The line-up of spices is an exceptional blend not only of flavours, but of a frankly mind blowing list of medicinal benefits. Ancient medicine plus the results of modern testing show, amongst other things, the capacity to protect cells against DNA damage, to fight diabetes by managing the bodyí´s response to insulin, to manage our cholesterol balance, to boost heart health, to combat bacterial infections & to defend against neurological disorders.í_
Serving size 2g
Add anywhere from half a teaspoon to a rounded teaspoon (depending on your preference) to a mug of your favourite milk & warm gently on the stove. Ití´s a great idea to also add either some coconut oil (1/2 tsp) or a slug of organic cream to the mix, as fat helps the body absorb the active ingredient in the turmeric. Honey or maple syrup is also added to taste if required. You can also have your barista make this í simply steam the milk with the mix & fat together.í_í_
